Food Pantries

Free and Open to the Public!

We host a monthly food pantry distribution for Lake View families and the community on the third Monday of the month from 3:45-5:45 p.m. The food pantry is at Sherman Ave. United Methodist Church (3705 N Sherman Ave, Madison, WI 53704), which is located across the street from Lake View. You can follow us on Facebook to get the latest updates about the food offerings at every food pantry.

Important things to know about the food pantry:

• Everyone is welcome! You do not need to have a child who attends Lake View in order to access the food pantry. It is an indoor shopping experience. Park in the parking lot of the church and enter through the main doors. 

• You will need to register at a table near the front doors. Food pantry users do not need to show IDs, but they do have to complete a short form to share information about members of their household (first and last name and date of birth). This helps us get funding for the food pantry.

• Proxy shoppers are allowed. Please feel free to have family members, friends, or neighbors pick up for you. Your proxy shopper will need to be prepared to the first/last name and date of birth of all of your household members.

• Once you are registered, you will wait in a designated area until it is your turn to shop.

• Food offerings are a la carte. This means you can choose the foods you want and you do not have to take a pre-packaged box of food. Quantities offered are based on the size of your household. Bigger households will get more food than smaller households.
